Physisist, Graduated from Moscow State University. Then with the Institute of Crystallography of the USSR/Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, USSR/Russia. Since 1996 is with the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL, USA, since 2006 with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, CA, USA. Major interests are in crystal growth, surface and materials sciences. Doctor and Professor of Physics, Member of the USSR (now Russian) Academy of Sciences (Division of Physics, elected in 1987). Laureate of the inauguration IOCG F.C.Frank Prize, E.S.Fyodorov Prize in Crystallography of the USSR/Russian Academy of Sciences, Government Prize of Russian Federation in Science and Technology and of others.
